Job summary

Jiffy Lube / Lube Management Corp is hiring an Emissions Technician in Salt Lake City, UT. This role supports emissions inspections, provides quality customer service, and participates in award-winning training programs.

Qualifications

  • County Emissions and/or State Safety Inspection Certification required.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Exposed to outside weather conditions.
  • Work in and around potentially moving vehicles.
  • Frequently required to stand and walk.
  • Dress and grooming standards.

Responsibilities

  • Provide services to customers following procedures and standards for Signature Service and ancillary services including Emissions Inspections per County requirements.
  • Assist customers in making correct decisions for preventive maintenance needs.
  • Drain oil and replace filters.
  • Check and replace automotive fluids as directed.
  • Talk to customer and begin initial service requests by entering information.
  • Make recommendations to customers based on manufacturer’s recommendations.
  • Complete sales transactions when needed.
  • Assist with advertising.
  • Follow OSHA and EPA standards.
  • Keep the facility clean and safe.
  • Be available to work temporarily at nearby locations.
  • Follow all policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.

Job Description:

The Emissions Technician position is a great place to start your career at Jiffy Lube. It’s a fast-paced team environment and the Emissions Technician is the next step towards more advanced positions. The role of Emissions Technician is to ensure customer receives complete service and perform required Emissions Inspections to his/her vehicle in a timely and professional manner and to maintain a pleasant and safe environment for customers.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities for a Emissions Technician:
  • Provide services to customers following procedures and standards as outlined by management for Signature Service and ancillary services including, but not limited to:
    • Perform Emissions Inspections per County requirements
    • Assist customers in making correct decisions for preventive maintenance needs
    • Drain oil and replace filters
  • Check and replace automotive fluids as directed
  • Talk to customer and begin initial service requests by entering information
  • Make recommendations to customers, explaining additional services based on manufacturer’s recommendations
  • Complete sales transactions when needed
  • Assist with advertising
  • Understand and comply with OSHA and EPA standards
  • Clean facility as directed to maintain the cleanliness and general repair of the shop and property
  • Be available to work temporarily at nearby locations
  • Follow all policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook and/or Jiffy Lube documentation
  • Other duties as needed
Knowledge and Skills:
  • County Emissions and/or State Safety Inspection Certification
