Job summary

Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) seeks a Certification and Compliance Technician for the Emission Test Team at the Superior Township facility in Michigan. You will conduct inspections, prep vehicles, instrument data, and collaborate with Test Ops to meet EPA and CARB standards.

Ideal candidates hold an associate degree or automotive training, with experience in emission testing and HEV/PHEV/EV systems. Strong documentation and project coordination skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or Automotive Trade School required.
• Automotive Technology or Repair and Services experience preferred.
• ASE or State of MI automotive certificate(s) preferred.
• Experience in emission testing and HEV/PHEV/EV testing is valuable.
• Strong knowledge of compliance and certification testing.
• Proficiency in MS Office and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed inspections on compliance and certification vehicles.
• Prepare vehicles for emissions, PEMS, and coast-down testing.
• Carry out minor repairs, diagnostics, and fab work as needed.
• Instrument and instrument vehicles for data collection.
• Coordinate external repair services and parts ordering.
• Support Test Ops engineering for testing activities.
• Maintain and document vehicle test records and audits.
• Prepare reports and present findings to team.
• Support calibration and upkeep of test equipment.
• Travel up to 15% domestically and internationally.
