This is a full-time, 40 hour per week position.

The EMG Tech is responsible for diagnosing patients with neurological disorders. The technician will prepare patients for and conduct neurological diagnostic procedures to obtain data for use in the diagnosis of clinical disorders of the peripheral nervous system.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Education:Associates degree preferred. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. License/Certifications: Successful completion of an END/Neurodiagnostic Technologist program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or completion of at least 12 months of full-time (or equivalent), practical, on-the-job training in nerve conduction studies (NCSs). This period of training must be performed under the direct supervision of a neurologist or physiatrist experienced in electrodiagnostic medicine, preferably an ABEM Diplomate. Additionally, the candidate must have experienced a minimum of 250 patient encounters where NCSs were performed on separate occasions. Current CPR certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross is required.BLS certification.
  3. Experience: 2 years of relevant experience is required

  5. Additional Skills/Requirements Preferred: Highly competent in performing multiple neurodiagnostic testing modalities. Knowledge of basic infection control standards relating to patient and equipment including the central and peripheral nervous system. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathologic processes, and aseptic techniques
