Job summary

WSP is seeking an Early Career Transmission Line Engineer in Hailey, ID. You will support high voltage overhead line design under experienced engineers, contributing to project execution, field coordination, and technical development for safe and reliable transmission systems.

The role targets early career professionals eager to build a strong technical foundation in transmission engineering, with opportunities to work with the Boise Line Team and WSP’s expanding power practice.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, Structural or Electrical Engineering (or related).
• 0–1 year post-education experience is acceptable.
• Strong research, analytical and communication skills.
• Familiarity with design/build processes and codes.
• Ability to work with discipline-specific design software.

Responsibilities

• Assist with collecting, analyzing data from the site, surveys, GIS, and maps for project development.
• Prepare design calculations for structures, foundations, conductors and line components.
• Support plan and profile drawings, loading trees, material lists, and construction packages.
• Evaluate route constraints and reliability requirements; support QA/QC of drawings and calculations.
• Assist in preparing engineering reports, permit exhibits and cost estimates.
• Participate in internal design reviews and cross-disciplinary coordination.
• Engage in early career development and adhere to safety policies.
