Job summary

Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) invites applications for a full-time Learning Experience Designer - Emerging Technologies to lead the exploration, integration, and promotion of emerging technologies across MSOE's curricula. You will support faculty in adopting digital tools and pedagogical approaches that enhance student learning, engagement, and accessibility.

Qualifications

• Master's degree required (Education, Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or related field).
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in instructional design, faculty development, or supporting the integration of technology in learning environments.
• Experience with emerging technologies such as AI, AR/VR, or data analytics in education.
• Knowledge of pedagogical frameworks and instructional design principles (e.g., UDL, active learning, experiential learning).
• Experience designing professional development for faculty or adult learners.
• Familiarity with LMS platforms and digital learning ecosystems (e.g., Canvas, Panopto, MS Teams).
• Knowledge of copyright law, WCAG 2.1, and ADA compliance in an academic environment.

Responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate, and pilot emerging technologies relevant to teaching and learning.
• Partner with academic departments and IT to integrate emerging technologies into curricula and resources.
• Monitor trends in emerging technologies and translate them into actionable initiatives to improve student learning.
• Develop, curate, and maintain a repository of technology-enhanced teaching resources.
• Design, deliver, and assess workshops and professional development for faculty integration of emerging technologies.
• Provide consultations for faculty in selection and use of emerging technologies.
• Collaborate with IT and stakeholders to scale technology initiatives across MSOE.
• Serve on institutional committees focused on emerging technologies and travel to conferences (approx. two trips/year).
