Supervises customer service associates and designated hitters. Responsible for managing the front end of the store and making recommendations on the overall operations of the Pharmacy and Retail Store.
Supports Store Manager with the overall operation of the store to achieve company deliverables; works alternate schedule with the Store Manager with minimal overlap; assumes responsibilities of all store activities in the absence of the Store Manager. Ensures proper merchandising, protection of store assets, and improves store sales and profitability.
Leads and manages store team members, including recruitment, hiring, performance management, and discipline of direct reports to ensure teams are engaged and performing their responsibilities to achieve company deliverables.
Customer Experience
- Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolves customer complaints promptly and answers questions to ensure a positive customer experience. Shares and models customer service best practices.
- Monitors customer service, provides coaching, training, and develops plans for improvements in both the front-end and pharmacy. Empowers team members to find impactful resolutions for customers, seeking solutions that exceed expectations and build loyalty.
- Accountable for improving overall customer service metrics.
Operations
- Supervises store operations and team activities, including assigning daily tasks, delegating responsibilities, managing shifts, approving time records and time off, and resolving scheduling conflicts to ensure proper coverage.
- Collaborates with external partners to support community outreach and external partnerships as a resource for the Pharmacy Operations Manager.
- Supports data-driven decision making through analysis and team input; monitors impact of initiatives.
- Manages store cash operations, including register counts, bank withdrawals, safe deposits, and change orders.
- Supervises inventory for front end and pharmacy, analyzes trends, and implements corrective actions; trains team on inventory procedures.
- Ensures execution of operational feedback from managers through delegation and supervision.
- Maintains store appearance and safety, including cleaning, repairs, and emergency responses.
- Ensures team proficiency with computer and technology systems.
- Ensures compliance with policies, laws, and regulations, including sale of alcohol, tobacco, and pharmacy products.
- Completes special assignments as needed.
Business Performance Management
- Analyzes financial and performance data; creates action plans to meet business goals.
- Uses operational metrics to engage the team and drive store improvements; collaborates on sales initiatives.
- Supports pharmacy during busy periods, including serving as a pharmacy technician if necessary.
People & Performance Management
- Leads and trains team members; provides mentorship and coaching for career development. Manages performance, including discipline and termination when appropriate.
- Assigns responsibilities, develops performance plans, and provides feedback to enhance individual and team effectiveness.
- Recruits and retains talent, develops pipelines for future leaders, and manages staffing needs.
- Follows proper procedures for recruitment, record keeping, and training in compliance with laws and policies.
- Fosters a culture of accountability with clear expectations and performance management tools.
Training & Personal Development
- Completes required training programs, certifications, and development courses.
- Seeks continuous feedback, monitors own performance, and maintains an Individual Development Plan.
- Obtains and maintains valid pharmacy technician license as required by state.
Communications
- Maintains open communication with team through discussions and meetings; responds to questions and concerns.
- Assists in planning and communicating store and company strategies.
External Basic Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, leadership abilities, and willingness to complete required training. Fluency in English and flexibility in work hours are required. Willingness to accept promotion and relocate if needed.
Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree, management experience, and retail or food industry background.
