Supervises customer service associates and designated hitters. Responsible for managing front end of the store and making recommendations on the overall operations of the Pharmacy and Retail Store.

Supports Store Manager with the overall operation of the store to achieve company deliverables; works alternate schedule with the Store Manager with minimal overlap; assumes responsibilities of all store activities in the absence of the Store Manager. Ensures proper merchandising, protection of store assets, and improves store sales and profitability.

Leads and manages store team members, including recruitment, hiring, performance management, and discipline of direct reports to ensure teams are engaged and performing their responsibilities to achieve company deliverables.

Customer Experience
  • Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolves customer complaints in a timely manner and answers questions to ensure a positive customer experience. Models and shares customer service best practices.
  • Monitors customer service, provides coaching, training, and develops plans for improvements in both the front-end and pharmacy. Empowers team members to find impactful resolutions for customers; seeks solutions that exceed customer expectations and build loyalty.
  • Accountable for improving overall customer service metrics.
Operations
  • Supervises store operation and team activities, including assigning daily tasks, delegating responsibilities, managing shifts, and approving time records and time off.
  • Collaborates with external partners to support community outreach and external partnerships.
  • Supports Store Manager in data analysis and decision-making, monitors impact, and drives store improvements.
  • Manages cash handling procedures, including register counts, bank withdrawals, and safe deposits.
  • Oversees inventory management for front end and pharmacy, analyses trends, and trains team members on inventory procedures.
  • Ensures store cleanliness, safety, and maintenance; manages repair and emergency responses.
  • Ensures team competence with computer and technology systems.
  • Maintains compliance with policies, laws, and regulations, including sale of regulated products.
  • Completes assigned special tasks as needed.
Business Performance Management
  • Analyzes financial and performance data; develops action plans for store growth and improvement.
  • Uses KPIs and operating statements to engage team and identify sales opportunities.
  • Supports Pharmacy during peak times, including serving as a pharmacy technician if needed.
People & Performance Management
  • Leads and trains team members, providing coaching, mentoring, and career development support.
  • Manages performance through goal setting, feedback, and recognition; handles discipline and termination when necessary.
  • Recruits and retains talent, manages staffing needs, and ensures diversity and pipeline development.
  • Fosters a culture of accountability with clear expectations and performance management.
Training & Personal Development
  • Completes Store Manager training programs and ongoing development courses.
  • Seeks continuous feedback, maintains an Individual Development Plan, and commits to self-improvement.
  • Obtains and maintains a valid pharmacy technician license as required.
Communications
  • Maintains open communication with team through meetings and discussions.
  • Assists in planning and communicating store strategy.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, including a Walgreens internship or supervisory experience.
  • Leadership skills, business ethics, motivation, and communication skills.
  • Completion or willingness to complete Walgreens leadership training.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Flexibility for schedule and willingness to accept promotion and relocation if offered.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Management experience, including supervising others and managing front-end and pharmacy.
  • Business majors or retail/food industry experience preferred.
