Responsibilities
- Supervises customer service associates and designated hitters. Manages front end operations and makes pharmacy and retail store recommendations.
- Supports Store Manager with store operations, covers responsibilities in their absence, and ensures proper merchandising and asset protection.
- Leads and manages store team, including recruitment, hiring, performance management, and discipline.
- Customer Experience
- Engages customers, resolves complaints, and models customer service best practices.
- Monitors and improves customer service metrics.
- Operations
- Supervises store operations, assigns tasks, manages scheduling, and collaborates with external partners.
- Supports data-driven decision-making and oversees cash management and inventory control.
- Ensures store cleanliness, safety, and compliance with policies and laws.
- Business Performance Management
- Analyzes financial and performance data, creates improvement plans, and supports store growth initiatives.
- Assists Pharmacy during busy periods, including serving as a pharmacy technician if needed.
- People & Performance Management
- Leads and trains team members, manages performance, and develops talent pipelines.
- Handles recruitment, selection, and training procedures in compliance with policies and laws.
- Establishes a culture of accountability and performance management.
- Training & Development
- Completes Store Manager development programs and maintains necessary certifications.
- Engages in self-development and maintains an Individual Development Plan.
- Obtains and maintains a pharmacy technician license as required.
- Communications
- Maintains open communication with team through meetings and discussions.
- Assists in planning and communicating store strategy.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, including supervisory experience.
- Leadership abilities, business ethics, self-motivation, and strong communication skills.
- Completion or willingness to complete Walgreens leadership training within 12 weeks.
- Fluency in English (except in Puerto Rico).
- Flexible schedule, willingness to accept promotion and transfer opportunities.
- Internal candidates: management experience; external candidates: retail or food industry experience.
