Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, Maine seeks a Respiratory Therapist I for a PRN role to assist in diagnosing, treating, and managing pulmonary disorders. You will collect and analyze specimens, monitor oxygenation and ventilation, and support team care across hospital areas under supervision.

The role requires an associate’s (or bachelor’s) degree in respiratory therapy, and active NBRC testing with licensure eligibility; Maine state licensure within the expected timeframe

Qualifications

  • Requires an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in respiratory therapy.
  • Must complete NBRC licensure testing and obtain a state license.
  • Maine license eligibility required; Registered Respiratory Therapist licensure within one year.

Responsibilities

  • Mechanical ventilator initiation and management.
  • Insertion and/or care of artificial airways
  • Patient assessment, medication administration and therapy recommendations, interpretation of clinical data
  • Airway clearance & bronchoscopy assist as appropriate
  • Participation in Rapid Response Team, Code Team, Trauma Team, and Sepsis team as applicable
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary rounds in critical care areas and educate staff
  • Maintain safety and report hazards per NLH policies
  • May perform other duties upon request.
