Job summary

Legal & General's L&G Asset Management seeks an Associate Portfolio Manager for Emerging Markets to assist the EM portfolio management team in implementing client portfolios. You will handle execution, monitoring, cash management, risk oversight, and reporting under senior PMs.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years buyside or EM fixed income exposure, strong Bloomberg/Excel skills, and a solid understanding of fixed income concepts. This role is based in Chicago with potential for growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics or a quantitative field is required.
• CFA or Master’s degree in a relevant field is preferred.
• 5+ years of buyside investment management or sell-side on a trading desk, preferably EM fixed income.
• Knowledge of fixed income concepts including duration, spread risk, yield curve positioning, attribution.
• Working knowledge of EM debt markets and global macro developments.
• Strong AI, Bloomberg and Excel skills are required.
• Excellent analytical and communication abilities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Support portfolio construction and implementation across Emerging Markets mandates.
• Monitor exposures, duration, spread risk, and benchmark compliance.
• Construct and submit trade orders under portfolio managers.
• Assist with portfolio reporting, performance attribution, and risk metrics.
• Coordinate with trading, compliance, legal and operations.
• Contribute to investment committee preparation and strategic projects.
