Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. is seeking a Financial Controller within the Emerging Markets Currencies & Emerging Markets group to ensure accurate, timely financial records for the Brazil Equities Derivatives business.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field.
• Basic knowledge of the General Ledger accounting process and month-end close responsibilities.
• Ability to build partnerships across product lines and corporate groups.
• Ability to influence middle and front office partners to deliver solutions.
• Strong analytical skills and understanding of complex processing systems and GL interdependencies.
• Excellent desktop/spreadsheet/database skills and strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to multi-task in a rapidly changing environment and challenge controls constructively.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile balance sheet and P&L across general ledger, risk systems, and operating systems for Brazil Equities Derivatives.
• Support a line of business within Corporate & Investment Bank (Currencies & Emerging Markets, Rates, Trading...).
• Collaborate with controllers, middle office, business managers, technology, and operations to ensure financial control.
• Analyze end-to-end trading flow, booking models, product configurations, and trade economics to apply accounting policies.
• Maintain integrity of income statements and balance sheets at close, quarter, and year-end.
• Drive engagement in line-of-business initiatives as the financial control SME.
• Identify and implement process and infrastructure improvements with stakeholders.
• Oversee preparation of primary financial statements for earnings releases and SEC filings.
• Manage intercompany eliminations and consolidation adjustments.
• Support change initiatives to simplify processes and strengthen controls.
