Join Barclays as an Emerging Market Structured Trader, responsible for Latin America Emerging Markets Macro Structured Trading within the Markets division based in New York. The role involves managing daily pricing and risk for the Latam structured desk, reporting directly to the global head of EM macro structured trading. The desk's trading capabilities encompass a broad range of fixed-income structured products across FX, rates, and credit.

To succeed as an Emerging Market Structured Trader, candidates should have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in STEM fields
  • Strong analytical skills with extensive programming experience
  • Knowledge or experience in fixed-income markets

Additional valued skills include:

  • Prior experience in Latam markets
  • Experience in a financial institution
  • Stakeholder management with internal and external clients

The role may involve assessments on key skills such as risk management, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, digital and technological skills, alongside technical job-specific skills.

This position is located in New York and is FINRA regulated.

Salary range: Minimum $155,000 to Maximum $250,000. This range reflects base salary only and excludes other compensation or benefits.

Purpose of the role

Develop and implement structured financial products and solutions to meet client needs and optimize the bank's market exposure and profitability.

Accountabilities
  • Develop innovative structured financial products, including derivatives, structured notes, and other investment products tailored to client needs.
  • Analyze and manage risks associated with structured products, ensuring compliance with regulations and policies.
  • Assess pricing and valuation of structured products using mathematical models, and collaborate with trading teams for competitive pricing.
  • Work with traders, risk managers, and stakeholders to implement products effectively and mitigate risks.

  • If managing a team, define roles, plan for future needs, coach employees, and influence operational strategies.
