Job summary

H-E-B is seeking an Associate Team Leader for its Texas distribution network. This structured 6-month program trains you to lead people while ensuring product flow and efficient supply chain operations.

Participants gain hands-on exposure to manufacturing, warehousing, transportation, and eCommerce fulfillment, with mentoring, workshops, and networking with Supply Chain Leaders, culminating in a Team Leader role. Travel and flexible shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• 1+ years related experience - Required
• High Performance Work Team experience - Preferred
• Participation in Leadership training and BET - Required
• Working knowledge of compliance requirements of industry, EEOC, and employment laws - Required
• Verbal / written communication and presentation skills - Required
• Analytical skills - Required
• Influencing skills (people and process) - Required
• Skills in operating internal / external software, systems - Required
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and shift focus between projects / tasks; attention to detail - Required

Responsibilities

• Training mode: Assigned to a specific team with direct supervision; will shadow / be mentored by Team Ldr II
• Majority of the time spent using independent judgment making employment-related and business decisions
• Ensures appropriate coaching and training is received
• Administers certification tests
• Notifies appropriate leader of critical situations
• Ensures compliance with internal practices and external policies, procedures, guidelines, and governance
• Communicate (small scale) tactical plans and initiatives to effectively gain partner cooperation
• Provides input on staffing levels and participates in sourcing and interviewing candidates
• Identifies / develops team coordinators
• Processes each work injury
• Provides detailed shift summaries to other leaders
• Implements plans; prepares / communicates plans to achieve team goals to leader(s)
• Monitors / adjusts labor requirements to balance staffing levels and overtime costs
• Regularly reviews / communicates results with team
• Ensures compliance with work instructions, standards, and product specifications
