Frontier Technology Inc. (FTI) is seeking an early career Data Scientist to support the Naval Safety Command in Norfolk, VA. This on-site/hybrid role is ideal for a recent master's graduate or current PhD student eager to apply academic data science, ML, and predictive analytics to Navy safety challenges.

You will work with senior data scientists and engineers to develop, test, and deploy predictive models using Python, R, and related libraries, with emphasis on real-world mission impact.

Qualifications

• Active DoD Secret Clearance
• Bachelor's Degree in data-related field
• 1–2 years practical data science/analytics experience or Master's with applied research
• Proficiency in Python or R
• Experience with Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, SciPy

Responsibilities

• Design, calibrate, and test predictive risk models for Navy mishap risk
• Analyze complex data to identify relationships and predictors
• Perform feature engineering, cross-validation, and model evaluation
• Apply Python or R to real-world data challenges
• Collaborate to transition models to operational environments
• Contribute to deployment, maintenance, and interpretation of AI solutions
