Job summary

The Cadmus Group is seeking a backend/frontend focused software engineer to join a portal team supporting enterprise platforms and shared services for a federal health care organization. You’ll contribute to content management, quality reporting, secure email services, and operational dashboards in a fast‑paced Agile setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• 1–2 years of hands-on experience building and maintaining web applications using modern frontend and backend technologies.
• 1–2 years of experience in full stack web development.
• Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar platforms.
• Proficiency with Git and collaborative development workflows.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins) and DevOps practices.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Knowledge of automated testing frameworks and test‑driven development.
• Comfortable evaluating new technologies and frameworks to improve systems.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior developers, product owners, and DevOps to design, develop, test, and deploy scalable applications on cloud infrastructure.
• Develop responsive and interactive user interfaces using Angular and React.
• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Python and JavaScript.
• Design, implement, and integrate REST APIs with frontend apps and third‑party services.
• Deploy, configure, and maintain applications on AWS cloud services.
• Work in Linux environments for deployment, troubleshooting, and automation.
• Write clean, maintainable, well‑documented code following standards.
• Participate in code reviews, debugging, testing, and performance optimization.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams in an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Troubleshoot production issues and help maintain availability.
