Job summary

DOWL is seeking a Civil Designer 2 to join our site design group. The role involves moderately complex civil/site development design, drafting, and documentation under supervision, with opportunities to grow technical skills and client interaction.

You will contribute to site layout, grading, utility plans, and permit packages while collaborating with engineers and project teams to deliver quality results for public and private clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• 2 years of experience; 1 year with an advanced degree preferred.
• EIT/EI certification required.
• Driver's license required to support field activities.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and related design tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform moderately complex calculations and design services for civil/site development projects.
• Prepare construction documents and estimates of costs.
• Coordinate with clients and approval agencies; site visits as needed.
• Assist with budgeting, scheduling, and task-level planning.
• Produce technical reports and memos; ensure quality control of deliverables.
• Develop proficiency in drafting fundamentals and AutoCAD Civil 3D under supervision.
• Support in permitting exhibits, plan preparation, and construction details.
• Respond to design reviews and incorporate feedback from senior staff.
