Job summary

Waco Animal Emergency Clinic in Waco, TX is seeking a skilled Veterinary Technician to join our emergency team for weekend support (10a-10p or 2p-2a). You will assist veterinarians, monitor anesthesia, administer medications, and ensure high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Licensed veterinary technician in Texas preferred.
• Associate’s degree in Veterinary Technology from an accredited program preferred.
• Knowledge of veterinary practices, procedures and terminology.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with veterinarians and staff to ensure seamless patient care and client service.
• Support veterinarians with patient exams, procedures and surgeries with prepared equipment.
• Administer medications, vaccinations, lab tests and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor anesthesia and patient vitals during surgical procedures.
• Provide nursing care to hospitalized patients, including wound management and IV therapy.
• Operate radiography and ultrasound equipment.
• Explain treatment plans and updates to pet owners.
• Maintain accurate patient records and histories.
