BluePearl Pet Hospital in Nashville, TN is hiring experienced RELIEF Veterinary Technicians to work in our busy Emergency and Critical Care department.

Pay: $21.00 - $41.00 / hour

This pay band is a starting point and is dependent on experience and advancement through the CareerTrax leveling system.

Candidates with VTS credentialing are eligible for compensation commensurate with experience.

The role of Veterinary Technician at BluePearl Emergency Pet Hospital offers an exciting, fast-paced environment where you can utilize and expand your skills alongside talented veterinary professionals.

As an Emergency Veterinary Technician, you will:

1. Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia, using anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
2. Triage emergency cases, obtain vital signs such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure.
3. Perform digital radiography with proper technique and patient positioning.
4. Understand normal ranges of vital signs and alert veterinarians to any abnormalities.
5. Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
6. Calculate medical dosages, including infusions, and administer medications appropriately.
7. Perform phlebotomy and place intravenous catheters in peripheral vessels.
8. Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
9. Mentor and train co-workers.
10. Address client concerns with patience and empathy.
