BluePearl Pet Hospital in Levittown, PA is hiring experienced Veterinary Technicians to work in our busy Emergency and Critical Care department.

Shift Time: 4:00 PM - 2:00 AM

Days: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday

Pay: $21.00 - $43.00 / hour

This pay band is a starting point and depends on experience and advancement through the leveling system.

We offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked during nights and weekends. Shift differentials are based on a 4-hour minimum. For example:

• Mon - Fri: 6 PM to 8 AM = $3.50 Shift Differential
• Sat & Sun: 6 PM to 8 AM = $5.00 Shift Differential
• Sat & Sun: 8 AM to 6 PM = $3.50 Shift Differential

BluePearl Pet Hospital offers an exciting, fast-paced role that allows you to utilize and expand your skills, working alongside talented veterinary professionals.

As an Emergency Veterinary Technician, you will:

• Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia in patients using anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
• Triage emergency cases as they arrive, including obtaining vital signs such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure.
• Perform digital radiography with proper technique and patient positioning.
• Understand normal ranges of patient vital signs and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs, alerting veterinarians to changes.
• Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
• Calculate medical math, including constant rate infusions, and administer medications appropriately.
• Perform phlebotomy and place intravenous catheters in peripheral vessels.
• Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
• Mentor and train colleagues.
• Address client concerns with patience and empathy.
