Job description

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Levittown, PA, is hiring experienced Veterinary Technicians to work in our busy Emergency and Critical Care department.

Shift Time: 4:00PM - 2:00AM

Days: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday

Pay: $21.00 - $43.00 / hour

This pay band is a starting point and depends on experience and advancement through our leveling system.

We also offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked during nights and weekends. Shift differentials are based on a 4-hour minimum. For example:

• Mon - Fri: 6pm to 8am = $3.50 Shift Differential
• Sat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = $5.00 Shift Differential
• Sat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = $3.50 Shift Differential

As an Emergency Veterinary Technician at BluePearl, you will:

• Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia in patients, using anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
• Triage emergency cases as they arrive, including obtaining vitals such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure.
• Perform digital radiography with proper technique and positioning.
• Understand normal ranges of patient vital signs and alert Veterinarian to changes and issues.
• Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
• Calculate medical math and administer medications appropriately.
• Perform phlebotomy and place intravenous catheters.
• Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
• Mentor and train co-workers.
• Address client concerns with patience and empathy.
