VCA Family and Oahu Veterinary Specialty Center in Pearl City, HI, is seeking a full-time Emergency Veterinary Technician for the swing/2nd shift. You will deliver high-quality emergency care, triage, venipuncture, anesthesia monitoring, and collaboration with the veterinary team to stabilize critical patients.

The role offers a competitive hourly wage ($24–$35) based on license, skill set, and experience, along with benefits typical of a large veterinary network.

Responsibilities

• Triage: Perform quick initial assessment of patient condition and gather owner information.
• Venipuncture and IV catheter placement.
• Administer fluids, medications and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians.
• Collaborate with all staff to ensure hospitalized patients receive optimal care.
• Monitor ICU patients and report changes to the veterinary team.
• Provide clear discharge instructions to clients for home care.
• Maintain accurate patient records and treatment details.
• Assist with anesthesia and monitoring during procedures.
• Operate diagnostic imaging equipment and capture radiographs.
• Run diagnostics (CBC, chemistry, UA) and relay results to veterinarians.
• Administer oxygen therapy as needed.
• Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures.
