PetVet Care Centers is seeking an Emergency Medical Director for our Visalia, CA location. The role involves leading emergency veterinary care with a team of veterinarians, technicians, and support staff, reporting to the Hospital Manager and Regional Director.

The position offers an Annual Medical Director Stipend and engagement with a busy emergency and critical care practice that operates 365 days a year. Visalia, nestled near Fresno, offers outdoor recreation and a vibrant community.

Qualifications

• DVM or VMD from an accredited college or university.
• Current State Veterinary License.
• DEA registration must be obtained and maintained.
• 1+ years of experience in a veterinary emergency practice.
• Excellent surgical and dental skills.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient exams and medical work-ups.
• Communicate with clients and educate about treatments.
• Perform diagnostic procedures and surgeries as needed.
• Maintain accurate medical records.
• Prescribe medications and follow controlled substance protocols.
