WHAT WE NEED

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide compassionate care to patients and customers.
  • Perform nursing care tasks, patient monitoring, and treatments.
  • Triaging incoming patients based on understanding of diseases and physical assessments.
  • Administer medications and understand their effects.
  • Set up and monitor intravenous fluid therapy, including blood transfusions.
  • Contribute to outpatient and inpatient care as part of a team.
  • Participate in patient rounds for continuity of care.
  • Perform CPR as a RECOVER Certified Rescuer.
  • Collect samples, perform diagnostic tests, and assist with imaging.
  • Assist in sedation and anesthesia procedures under supervision.
  • Perform nursing tasks like catheter placement and oxygen therapy.
  • Work alongside licensed veterinary technicians.
  • Obtain additional training in growth pathways, including credentialing, outreach, and leadership roles.

Veterinary Assistants may also, where permitted by law:

  • Manage anesthesia, including mechanical ventilation.
  • Perform advanced vascular access and diagnostic techniques.
  • Participate in treatment and care planning.
