Veterinary Emergency Group in Millburn, NJ, is seeking an Emergency Veterinary Assistant to join our fast-paced ER team. You will support triage, treatments, and patient care from day one, while comforting pet parents and learning the ropes in real time in a busy, high-energy hospital.

You’ll collaborate with credentialed technicians and veterinarians, participate in rounds, and grow into advanced roles through structured training pathways, with modern facilities and a focus on team success.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Enrolled in AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program a plus.
• 1+ years in a veterinary assistant role (emergency or specialty experience a bonus)]

Responsibilities

• Be the first warm welcome and a steady support, triaging incoming patients and guiding them toward care
• Assist with treatments, nursing care, and diagnostics, from bloodwork and imaging to catheter placement and oxygen support
• Work alongside our credentialed veterinary technicians and veterinarians to set up and monitor anesthesia and sedation cases
• Set up and manage IV fluids, blood transfusions, and medication administration
