Job summary

Lubbock Small Animal Emergency Clinic in Lubbock, TX is seeking an Emergency Associate Veterinarian to join a committed veterinary team. You will manage critical and urgent cases, with mentorship and ongoing training provided for growth in emergency medicine.

The role emphasizes compassionate client communication, collaboration with staff, and a commitment to high standards of patient care. Swing and overnight shifts are required.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Veterinary degree, or equivalent, from an accredited university.
• Current DEA License or obtained upon hire.
• Active Veterinary State License.
• USDA Accreditation or obtained upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency care to patients in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Perform thorough physical exams, diagnostic tests, and imaging to assess the severity of patient conditions.
• Develop and implement treatment plans, including medical and surgical interventions as needed.
• Work collaboratively with the veterinary team and support staff to ensure the best outcomes for each patient.
• Communicate effectively with pet owners, explaining diagnoses, treatment options, and recommendations in a compassionate and clear manner.
• Ensure proper documentation and accurate record-keeping of all medical procedures and treatments.
• Stay current with advances in emergency medicine and participate in continuous education opportunities.
• Work swing and overnight shifts.
