Job summary

Lubbock Small Animal Emergency Clinic in Lubbock, TX is seeking a compassionate Emergency Associate Veterinarian to join our team. You will manage critical and urgent care cases alongside a dedicated team, with strong mentorship and ongoing training.

Experience in emergency care is not required, as we provide mentorship and growth opportunities. Swing and overnight shifts are part of the schedule, with a collaborative, caring culture and a focus on excellent patient care.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Veterinary degree, or equivalent, from an accredited university
• Current DEA License or obtained upon hire
• Active Veterinary State License
• USDA Accreditation or obtained upon hire

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency care to patients in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Perform thorough physical exams, diagnostic tests, and imaging to assess the severity of patient conditions.
• Develop and implement treatment plans, including medical and surgical interventions as needed.
• Work collaboratively with the veterinary team and support staff to ensure the best outcomes for each patient.
• Communicate effectively with pet owners, explaining diagnoses, treatment options, and recommendations in a compassionate and clear manner.
• Ensure proper documentation and accurate record-keeping of all medical procedures and treatments.
• Stay current with advances in emergency medicine and participate in continuous education opportunities.
• Work swing and overnight shifts.
