Assess and triage emergency and urgent care patients
Perform comprehensive physical examinations and medical work-ups
Stabilise critically ill and injured patients
Develop appropriate diagnostic and treatment plans
Perform emergency procedures and surgery according to experience
Utilise advanced diagnostic imaging and laboratory resources
Prescribe medications and manage controlled substances appropriately
Monitor hospitalised patients and adjust treatment plans when required
Participate in clinical rounds and patient handovers
Communicate diagnoses, treatment options, prognoses, and costs clearly with pet owners
Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records
Collaborate with specialists and fellow emergency veterinarians on complex cases
Support efficient patient flow from admission through discharge

Applicants should hold a DVM or VMD degree and hold, or be eligible to obtain, an active Kentucky veterinary licence. Candidates should also be able to obtain and maintain any additional registrations required for clinical practice.
The position is ideally suited to veterinarians with at least one year of clinical experience, particularly those comfortable working within emergency, urgent care, or other fast-paced veterinary environments.
