Global Talent Partners is seeking a full-time Emergency Veterinarian to join an established 24/7 emergency and specialty hospital serving pets and their families in Frederick, MD

This is an excellent opportunity for an Emergency Veterinarian who enjoys a fast-paced clinical environment and wants to work alongside experienced specialists while having access to extensive professional development, mentorship and advanced veterinary resources.

The Opportunity

You'll provide immediate, high-quality emergency care to dogs and cats, managing cases from initial triage and stabilization through diagnosis, treatment and ongoing hospitalization.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Emergency triage and critical patient assessment
  • Diagnosing and treating urgent and complex cases
  • Developing and overseeing individualized treatment plans
  • Managing hospitalized patients
  • Performing emergency procedures and surgeries
  • Providing critical care and stabilization
  • Working closely with veterinary technicians to deliver treatment plans
  • Communicating effectively with clients during stressful situations
  • Collaborating with specialists and referring veterinarians
  • Maintaining a consistently high standard of patient and client care

The hospital operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, providing continuous emergency and specialty care to the surrounding region.

Compensation is negotiable based on credentials, experience, skills and location.

About You

The ideal candidate will be a veterinarian who thrives in emergency medicine and enjoys the combination of rapid decision-making, critical care, surgery and collaborative case management.

You’ll be confident assessing patients in high-pressure situations while maintaining excellent communication with both clients and colleagues.

Requirements:
  • DVM, VMD or equivalent veterinary degree
  • Active veterinary license in the state of employment and in good standing
  • Active DEA license or eligibility to obtain one
  • Previous emergency medicine experience or completion of a small animal rotating/emergency internship is highly recommended
