Why Join the Team
  • VCA Advanced Veterinary Care Center (AVCC) is a 24‑hour Emergency and Specialty hospital with a collaborative, multi‑disciplinary team committed to practicing cutting‑edge medicine. You’ll join a tenured group of 9 emergency doctors and specialists across Internal Medicine, Ophthalmology, Neurology, Oncology, Radiology, Surgery, Rehabilitation, and more—all dedicated to providing the most comprehensive patient care.
  • Our 30,000 sq. ft. facility is fully equipped with advanced technology, including a 1.5 Tesla MRI, 64‑Slice CT, linear accelerator, fluoroscopy, multiple ultrasound units, YAG laser, electrodiagnostic equipment, full endoscopy, and two underwater treadmills. With 16 exam rooms and dedicated diagnostic spaces, you’ll have the tools you need to provide exceptional care.
  • At AVCC, you’ll also benefit from a supportive hospital culture that values collaboration, continuous learning, and mentorship. Students and new graduates are encouraged to apply and will receive dedicated guidance through our 6‑month mentorship program.
  • Beyond the hospital, you’ll enjoy life in Fishers and Carmel, communities consistently ranked among the Best Places to Live with excellent schools, vibrant arts and culture, and plenty of recreational opportunities. Plus, you’re a short drive to all the sports, dining, and entertainment that Indianapolis has to offer.

  • Rotating schedule allows for extended time off—blocks up to 7 consecutive days
  • No more than 4 days on in a row
  • Weekend coverage shared equally among swing ER doctors (1/3 of weekends)
  • Always supported—overlap with both day and overnight doctors ensures you’re never alone on shift

This unique schedule supports a true work‑life balance, giving you both variety and the freedom of longer breaks throughout the month.
