PuroVets in Central Florida's Winter Haven area is seeking an experienced Emergency Veterinarian (DVM) to join a busy, 24/7 ER and specialty hospital. The role offers a base salary of $150,000–$250,000 plus bonuses and extensive benefits.

You'll manage diverse emergencies, work with board-certified specialists and advanced equipment, and contribute to clinical research while focusing on wellbeing and professional development.

Qualifications

• The candidate must hold a DVM/VMD or equivalent veterinary degree.
• Florida veterinary license or eligibility to obtain one is required.
• Minimum 3 years of veterinary emergency/critical care experience.
• Strong clinical and diagnostic skills with excellent communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Manage a varied emergency and critical care caseload in a 24/7 setting.
• Diagnose and treat trauma, toxicology, respiratory and metabolic cases.
• Stabilise critically ill or injured patients and perform emergency procedures.
• Utilise advanced imaging and treatment equipment as needed.
• Collaborate with nurses, specialists and support staff.
• Communicate clearly with pet owners and care teams.

A leading privately owned 24/7 emergency and specialty veterinary hospital in Central Florida is seeking an experienced Emergency Veterinarian (DVM) to join its growing team.

THE ROLE

You’ll provide emergency and critical care for dogs and cats in a busy 24/7 hospital environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing a varied emergency and critical care caseload
• Diagnosing and treating trauma, toxicology, respiratory, metabolic and complex cases
• Stabilising critically ill and injured patients
• Performing emergency procedures and surgery where appropriate
• Utilising advanced diagnostic imaging and treatment equipment
• Working alongside experienced veterinary nurses and support staff
• Collaborating with board-certified specialists across multiple disciplines
• Communicating clearly and compassionately with pet owners

You’ll also have the opportunity to contribute to the development of the ER service and become involved in clinical research.

The hospital is a 20,000 sq. ft. emergency and specialty facility with access to:

• Fully equipped ICU, feline ICU and isolation wards
• 1.5 Tesla MRI
• 64-slice CT
• Hyperbaric oxygen therapy

• In-house laboratory and advanced monitoring
• 24/7 experienced nursing and client care support

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

The ideal candidate will have:

• DVM/VMD or equivalent veterinary degree
• Minimum 3 years' veterinary experience
• US veterinary licence, or eligibility to obtain a Florida licence
• Emergency/critical care experience
• Strong clinical and diagnostic skills
• Confidence managing complex and critical patients
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• An interest in innovation and advancing emergency medicine
