Job summary

Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) is seeking an Emergency Veterinarian in Charlotte, NC. You will handle a wide range of emergency cases, including surgeries and exotics, and lead hospital floor operations with a focus on mentorship and continuous learning.

You will engage in VEG Education programs and unlimited ER CE, while supporting a fast-paced team environment. The role offers learning opportunities, career growth, and a patient-centered approach for both pets and their families.

Qualifications

• Emergency medicine focus in veterinary care.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration with hospital staff.
• Excellent client communication and empathy in high-stress situations.
• Wamiliarity with emergency procedures and patient triage.

Responsibilities

• Answer medical questions over the phone.
• See patients right away as part of VEG Triage and VEG Spikes process.
• Gather signalment, presenting complaint, vitals, and physical exam.
• Conduct physical exams and required imaging or lab work.
• Create diagnostic and therapeutic plans and communicate options to customers.
• Prepare estimates and present them to customers.
• Create and review medical records for accuracy.
• Explain the value of tests and treatments to customers.
• Perform minor and major emergency surgeries as needed.
• Perform endoscopic procedures.
• Educate customers on aftercare and preventive measures.
