Job summary

Royal Vista Veterinary Specialists in Windsor, Colorado, is seeking a full-time Emergency Veterinarian to join Thrive Pet Healthcare’s network. You’ll deliver real-time emergency care, manage hospitalized cases, and lead treatment plans in a collaborative ER team.

The role includes surgeries, critical care, and high-quality service delivery with a progressive compensation model starting at a $140,000–$150,000 PROSAL per year, plus opportunities across Thrive’s nationwide resources.

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM / VMD) or equivalent degree required.
  • Active State Veterinary Board License: Active and in good standing for the state of intended employment; obtained prior to start date.
  • Active DEA license or DEA licensure eligible.
  • Experience in emergency medicine or completion of small animal rotating or emergency internships is highly recommended.

Responsibilities

  • Provide emergency care for sick and injured patients in a fast-paced ER.
  • Manage hospitalized cases and oversee treatment plans.
  • Assess and diagnose patients, develop and oversee treatment plans.
  • Perform surgeries and deliver critical care in the ER, collaborating with technicians.

Our progressive compensation model is designed to reward your impact, offering a competitive base salary alongside production opportunities—with no negative accrual.

You’ll provide emergency care for sick and injured patients while also managing hospitalized cases. You’ll assess and diagnose patients, develop and oversee treatment plans, and partner closely with technicians to ensure high-quality execution of care. Your work will include performing surgeries, delivering critical care, and maintaining an exceptional standard of service for every patient who enters our emergency department.

We offer state-of-the-art diagnostics and treatment capabilities, including fluoroscopy, ultrasound, CT, endoscopy, laparoscopy, and high-flow oxygen therapy, along with recently renovated client spaces and expanded exam room capacity.

You’ll work alongside a strong, fully staffed ER team with a 2:1 technician-to-doctor ratio, supported by experienced specialists and sister hospitals throughout the region. We foster a positive learning environment with specialist mentorship, collaborative shift rounds, and frequent teaching opportunities through our externship program.

Compensation negotiable based on credentials and experience with an annual PROSAL full-time range starting at $140,000 - $150,000/year. The actual salary offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
