Job summary

Small Animal Emergency Services in Vass, NC is seeking an experienced Emergency Veterinarian to join our close-knit team. You will provide high-quality emergency and urgent care for dogs and cats, lead triage, perform emergency procedures, and collaborate with skilled technicians to deliver excellent patient outcomes and clear client communication.

New grads with strong emergency skills and confidence in decision-making are welcome to apply. Must hold DVM/VMD and NC license or eligibility.

Qualifications

• DVM/VMD from an accredited veterinary school.
• Current NC veterinary license or ability to obtain licensure.
• Emergency medicine experience preferred; new graduates with emergency skills considered.
• Proficient procedural skills: intubation, venipuncture, urinary catheterization, basic emergency surgery.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and client service orientation.
• Ability to work variable shifts including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Provide emergency and urgent medical/surgical care for small animal patients; triage and stabilize critically ill patients.
• Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients about status, prognosis, and treatment options.
• Work collaboratively with technicians and support staff; mentor colleagues as needed.
• Maintain accurate medical records and follow hospital protocols and standards.
