Job summary

Mid-Columbia Pet Emergency Service in Pasco, WA is seeking a full-time Emergency Veterinarian. Earn 250k+ annually with shift pay plus 25% production: $1,400/Day shift (6am-6pm), $1,400/Swing shift (1pm-1am), and $1,600/Night shift (6pm-6am).

Schedule options include 10 shifts per month on various swing patterns or overnights only if preferred, with no overnight shifts required at this time.

Qualifications

  • DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with state licensure eligibility.
  • Internship-trained or experienced in emergency medicine; ABVP Diplomate encouraged.
  • Strong clinical judgment and teamwork in a fast-paced ER.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality emergency and critical care to a diverse caseload of companion animals.
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for urgent cases.
  • Provide comprehensive emergency care and stabilize critically ill patients.
  • Work with veterinarians, technicians, and support teams to ensure compassionate care.
  • Communicate clearly with pet owners during stressful situations.
  • Contribute to a positive hospital culture with teamwork and continuous learning.

In your day-to-day, you will:
  • Deliver high-quality emergency and critical care to a diverse caseload of companion animals.
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for patients presenting with urgent and emergent medical conditions.
  • Provide comprehensive emergency care through a balanced mix of receiving new emergency cases, triaging incoming patients, and managing hospitalized patients throughout their course of treatment.
  • Perform emergency procedures and stabilize critically ill or injured patients using evidence-based medicine.
  • Work closely with veterinarians, technicians, and support teams to provide seamless, compassionate patient care.
  • Communicate clearly and empathetically with pet owners during stressful and emotional situations.
  • Contribute to a positive, team-focused hospital culture built on collaboration, mentorship, and continuous learning.
What You Bring
  • DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for state veterinary licensure.
  • Ideal candidates will be internship-trained or experienced in emergency medicine, and those with a strong interest in surgery or ABVP diplomate credentials are especially encouraged to apply.
  • Confidence managing emergency cases and making sound clinical decisions in a fast-paced environment.
