Job description

Integrity Veterinary Center is hiring emergency veterinarians for our growing hospital! We are a locally and privately owned specialty and emergency hospital offering services in internal medicine, nutrition, oncology, outpatient Imaging (ultrasound and CT), high anesthetic risk dental procedures, soft tissue surgery, orthopedic surgery, and urgent care.

IVC is dedicated to delivering the highest standard of veterinary medicine. Our mission is to help every patient live as comfortably and happily as possible, for as long as we can. This commitment drives our compassionate care, collaborative teamwork, and continual pursuit of excellence in veterinary medicine.

At IVC, we believe in open communication and creating a supportive, educational environment. We encourage questions, learning, and sharing of knowledge through weekly Zoom rounds and general learning sessions that cover both medical topics and life skills. There is always something new to discover and explore.

As an independently‑owned hospital, the same people who work alongside you each day are the ones making decisions about staffing, services, pricing, and growth. Your voice matters here‑ we’re building IVC together to ensure it stays strong, supportive, and forward‑thinking.

Why You’ll Love Working With Us:
  • Work‑Life Balance and Fair Benefits: variable options for salary structure, plus health/dental/vision insurance, monthly pet insurance reimbursement/pet care stipend, uniform stipend, 3 weeks of accrued vacation, 1 week accrued sick time, 1 week of continuing education time, and an annual continuing education stipend ($4000).
  • Kindness & Respect: All clients are required to sign a client conduct agreement at their first visit, and we have a zero‑tolerance policy for abusive client behavior. You are welcome and encouraged to fire any clients who violate this agreement on the spot (or we can fire them for you)! Also, we have an extremely LGBTQIA+ - affirming, antiracist, leftist culture here at IVC.
  • Healthy Staffing: At least 3:1 support staff to doctor ratios- sometimes more, depending on the day and the shift.
  • Professional Development: Our specialists love to teach! We host weekly learning rounds via Zoom, along with a variety of other topic rounds to grow both clinical and life skills.
  • Involved Ownership: As a privately owned hospital, our hospital decision‑makers are consistently on the floor with you, and want to hear your suggestions. Many of our biggest improvements originated as staff ideas, so we definitely want to hear them!
What You’ll Do:
  • Provide high‑quality emergency and critical care to patients in need of urgent medical attention.
  • Diagnose and treat a variety of conditions, including trauma, toxicities, respiratory distress, shock, and other life‑threatening situations.
  • Utilize advanced diagnostic tools, including radiology, ultrasound, in‑house laboratory testing, and blood transfusion protocols.
  • Collaborate with veterinary nurses, specialists, and other support staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Effectively communicate with pet owners regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and prognosis in a compassionate and professional manner.
  • Provide guidance on follow‑up care and collaborate with primary care veterinarians for case continuity.

Join us in redefining veterinary care with heart and integrity. If you're ready to grow your skills in a supportive, dynamic, and compassionate environment, we’d love to meet you.

What We’re Looking For:
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Unrestricted license in MA, or able to become licensed in MA.
  • DEA license.
  • A collaborative, growth‑minded approach.
  • Strong problem‑solving abilities and quick decision‑making skills under pressure.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a compassionate approach to patient and client care.
  • Ability to work overnight shifts, including some weekends, and holidays.
Bonus If You Have:
  • Experience with emergency or specialty medicine.
  • Proficiency with surgical procedures.
