Job description

We are working on behalf of a busy emergency and urgent care hospital in Gainesville, GA that is looking to add an Emergency Veterinarian to its team.

This is a walk in service, so you will triage, stabilize, and treat a wide range of emergency and critical care cases, with a daily patient volume of around 10 to 15 and a support ratio of two technicians per doctor midweek and four per doctor at weekends. The hospital is genuinely well equipped for the caseload, with Idexx in house point of care analyzers, digital radiography, Butterfly and traditional ultrasound, soft tissue surgery capability, antivenom carried in house because of the frequency of snake bite cases, and monoclonal antibodies for the treatment of parvo.

The team is collaborative, teaching focused, and refreshingly low drama, supported by skilled technicians, dedicated CSRs, and leadership that is visible on the floor. What sets this role apart is the schedule.

The standard post is 30 hours per week and still qualifies for full benefits, and the practice will also consider part time hours under 30, or overnight and weekend only patterns with a holiday focus, for doctors who prefer them.

Earnings are structured to reward the work you actually do, with a production bonus, a long term incentive cash program, and no negative accrual to penalize you in slower periods. About You

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) or equivalent degree from an accredited university


• You hold, or are eligible for, licensure in Georgia


• Comfortable triaging, stabilizing, and treating a broad emergency caseload


• An interest in surgery and in continuing to build your soft tissue skills


• Strong communicator with a compassionate, client centered approach to care
