We are currently seeking Emergency Veterinarians to join the team at Animal Emergency & Referral Associates (AERA) in West Caldwell, New Jersey.

About Us

Founded as an after‑hours emergency clinic in 1977, AERA has grown into a 45,000 square‑foot, 24/7 state‑of‑the‑art hospital. The Emergency Service team works alongside specialists in Anesthesiology, Internal Medicine, Radiation Oncology, and Surgery. Dedicated ICU nurses, laboratory staff, and pharmacy technicians support the practice.

The Role

Emergency Veterinarians manage inpatient cases, triage incoming patients, and treat lacerations, basic wounds, urinary obstructions, and enucleations. They may also perform surgical procedures and training in endoscopic foreign‑body removal if interested.

The Schedule

• Three 12‑hour shifts per week, rotating. New graduates in the mentorship program have four shifts per week.


• Shifts: 8AM‑8PM, 12PM‑12AM, and 8PM‑8AM.


• Includes an average of two weekends per month and four holidays per year.
