Mount Dora Veterinary Hospital invites a dedicated Emergency/Urgent Care Veterinarian to join our growing team in Florida. This overnight role focuses on high-quality emergency care, protocol development, and building a new after-hours service with strong support staff.

We value a DVM with interest in ER, licensed or eligible in Florida, and a passion for compassionate patient care. Experience in night shifts and collaboration is essential for success.

Qualifications

• DVM required or equivalent and Florida license eligibility.
• Experience or strong interest in emergency/urgent care.
• DEA license or eligibility to obtain on hire; USDA accreditation or obtain on hire.
• Night owl with preference for overnight shifts and ability to lead expansion.

Responsibilities

• Provide essential emergency/urgent care to patients during overnights.
• Help establish protocols, workflows and the success of the new service.
• Collaborate with a skilled support team to expand after-hours offerings.

Mount Dora Veterinary Hospital is excited to announce an expansion of our well-established daytime general practice, and we’re looking for an Emergency/Urgent Care Veterinarian to join our growth!

About the Role:

You will provide essential emergency and urgent care services to patients when they need them most, working alongside a skilled and collaborative support team while helping to establish the protocols, workflows, and overall success of this exciting new service. This position is dedicated to overnight coverage, offering the opportunity to practice in a fast-paced and rewarding environment. Both full-time and part-time candidates will be considered, and flexible scheduling options are available to support work-life balance.

Job Description

• DVM Licensed (or eligible) in Florida.

• Experience or strong interest in emergency/urgent care.

• Skilled in urgent care / ER cases and surgery.

• Night Owl, a DVM who prefers working overnights

Qualifications

Doctor of Veterinary degree, or equivalent, from an accredited university

Current DEA License or obtained upon hire

Active Veterinary Florida State License

USDA Accreditation or obtained upon hire
