Job summary

VCA Dallas is seeking an Emergency Veterinarian to join our state-of-the-art, 25,000 sq ft facility. You’ll be part of a team supported by world-class medicine and technology and work alongside specialists in oncology, internal medicine, cardiology, neurology and surgery.

We offer three scheduling options to ensure quality of life while delivering high-level emergency care. You’ll have the chance to perform emergent surgeries with the backing of three board-certified surgeons and participate in

Qualifications

• A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited university.
• Licensure in good standing to practice in Texas or the ability to obtain.
• Commitment to the highest standard of veterinary medicine and ethics.

Responsibilities

• Provide triage and emergency medical care to patients in a high-volume ER.
• Collaborate with specialists to transfer suitable cases to departments the next day.
• Perform emergent surgical procedures with support from board-certified surgeons.

Schedule

• As a new Emergency Department, we have created three different scheduling options that will be discussed during the interview process. Our intent is to find a schedule that meets the needs of our hospital and all of our emergency team while maintaining a strong quality of life by minimizing burnout risk.

Cases

• Our ER will strive for the highest level of triage care in DFW
• Doctors will have the ability to transfer appropriate cases to our specialty departments the next day
• We intend to serve all emergency cases from minor routine to critical ailments
• We anticipate a large population of our cases to be current VCA Dallas patients
• ER doctors will have the opportunity to perform a variety of emergent surgical procedures and will have the support of three board-certified surgeons

• Up to $180,000 base salary. Salary is negotiable based on experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, and other relevant credentials.
