Job summary

Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) in Wisconsin is seeking a per diem Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join a fast-paced ER team. You will work on triage, treatments, diagnostics, anesthesia, monitoring, and critical care nursing, providing compassionate care to pets and support to their owners.

Ideal candidates hold AVMA‑accredited veterinary tech credentials with 1+ year of ER or specialty experience, strong communication, and the ability to lift up to 25 kg.

Qualifications

• Must be credentialed as a veterinary technician in the VEG practice state or able to be.

• Minimum 1 year of veterinary technician experience; emergency or specialty preferred.
• Proficient with practice management software and EMR systems.
• Strong communication and calm, compassionate care under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care, treatments and emotional support from triage to discharge.
• Handle anesthesia, monitoring, and critical care nursing during emergencies.
• Assist with diagnostics, treatments, and monitoring equipment.
• Collaborate with doctors and team to ensure consistent, gold‑standard care.
• Maintain patient and client communication; support a fast-paced ER environment.
• Perform basic tech procedures including IVs, CRIs, and sample collection.
• Be ready to participate in CPR and advanced life support when needed.
