Job summary

Fort Collins Veterinary Emergency Hospital in Fort Collins, CO is seeking experienced Veterinary Technicians and Assistants to join our fast-paced emergency team. Part-time schedule includes Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 3pm to 12am with compensation ranging from $18 to $24 per hour based on experience.

As a Thrive Pet Healthcare partner, we provide 24/7 emergency and urgent care for dogs, cats, and pocket pets.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of veterinary experience.
• Emergency experience preferred.
• LVT/RVT/CVT encouraged, but not required.
• Strong technical skills, including anesthesia monitoring and patient care.
• Ability to stay calm and organized in a fast-paced ER environment.
• Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills.
• Positive, team-oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians in emergency exams, treatments, and procedures.
• Assist with surgeries, anesthesia monitoring, and post-operative care.
• Provide nursing care and first aid to critical and recovering patients.
• Monitor and interpret patient vitals (BP, ECG, SpO₂, EtCO₂).
• Collect samples and perform basic in-house diagnostics.
• Operate radiology and other diagnostic equipment.
• Administer medications and treatments as directed.
• Accurately document patient care and medical records.
• Maintain clean, organized, and sterile treatment areas.
• Collaborate with teammates to support efficient patient flow.
