Job summary

Animal Emergency of Pasco is seeking a part-time veterinary technician to assist in triage, nursing care, and diagnostics. Weekend shifts are required, with no overnight hours. The candidate should be licensed or have 2+ years of tech experience and demonstrate strong customer service and communication skills.

The role includes radiography, lab work, and anesthesia monitoring, with opportunities for ongoing education and career growth in a busy after-hours facility.

Qualifications

• A certified veterinary technician with an active license is preferred, but experienced candidates with 2+ years of technician experience will be considered.
• Availability to work weekends is required, overnight hours are not required.
• A high work ethic and positive attitude team member.
• Ability to arrive on-time and ready to work.
• Exceptional customer service skills and ability to communicate precisely.
• Interpret medical records and record client history accurately.
• Knowledge in preventative care, surgical procedures, and hospital flow.
• Ability to restrain pets in a low-stress and safe manner.
• Proficient in sample collection to include blood samples, urine, fecal, and skin.
• Ability to properly set-up and process laboratory samples and tests.
• Proficient in positioning and capturing radiographs.
• Proficient in anesthesia and surgical monitoring.
• A self-starter with the desire to continue to advance one’s knowledge and skillset.

Responsibilities

• Restrain and triage incoming patients and assist in nursing care of hospital cases.
• Assist with diagnostic imaging, anesthesia, and surgical prepping.
• Communicate treatment plans and provide client education.
• Perform laboratory tests and analyze results.
