Job summary

Dana Safety Supply in Livingston, MT is seeking an Emergency Vehicle Technician (EVT) to install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and inspect emergency response vehicles and equipment. The role ensures fleet vehicles stay operational, safe, and compliant with standards across police, fire, EMS, and government fleets.

You will work on vehicle electrical systems, lighting, radios, GPS, and upfitting components, performing preventative maintenance, reading wiring diagrams, and ensuring quality

Qualifications

• Experience in automotive electrical systems or emergency vehicle installation.
• Knowledge of 12V and 24V electrical systems.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings.
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and testing instruments.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lift and move equipment up to 75 pounds.
• Valid Driver's License and must maintain the companys driving guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Install and configure emergency vehicle equipment (lights, sirens, radios, antennas).
• Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, and electronic issues.
• Perform preventative maintenance inspections for readiness and compliance.
• Read wiring diagrams, manuals, schematics, and installation instructions.
• Test functionality of lighting, sirens, radios, GPS, and mobile data terminals.
• Maintain documentation and inventory accountability.
• Coordinate with fleet managers and agencies to resolve issues.
