Job summary

Lake Orion Community Schools is seeking a Substitute Mechanic in Lake Orion, Michigan. Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, a CDL A endorsement, and four years of truck repair experience.

ASE certification is preferred, with ability to pass written and hands-on tests, and willingness to sign confidentiality and technology agreements. Responsibilities include thorough PM inspections, routine maintenance, engine/electrical/brake work, and emergency roadside service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Four years of truck repair experience.
• CDL license A endorsement required or pursued.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough PM inspections and preventive maintenance.
• Complete maintenance: lubrication, fluids, brakes, tires.
• Perform both scheduled and unscheduled repairs as directed.
• Handle complex engine, electrical, fuel, brake and exhaust work.
• Provide emergency roadside assistance when needed.
• Document repairs and parts on work orders clearly.
• Maintain a clean, organized shop and proper tools.
• Coordinate with Transportation Supervisor and team.
