Job description

Make a Difference When It Matters Most.

At Emergency Veterinary Care Centers (EVCC), we show up for pets and the people who love them on some of their hardest days.

If you thrive in fast-paced environments, believe teamwork saves lives, and want to work somewhere your voice truly matters — this could be your place.

Who We Are

Emergency Veterinary Care Centers was created by veterinarians, for veterinarians—and for the communities they serve. Founded by 36 local general practice veterinarians (many of whom are still actively involved today), EVCC was built to support the veterinary community by providing trusted emergency-only care when primary care veterinarians are closed.

Currently, EVCC Saginaw is open from Friday at 7PM through Monday at 830AM including all holidays that occur during this timeframe. Our #1 goal is to expand these hours to provide quality care 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, ensuring your pet always has access to lifesaving treatment— weekend or not.

Our Saginaw location is proud to provide compassionate emergency care for pets and the people who love them. Every shift, our team comes together to deliver lifesaving medicine while supporting one another through the fast pace and unpredictability of emergency veterinary care.

But what truly defines EVCC isn't just what we do—it's how we do it.

We:
  • Lead with compassion
  • Respect and elevate our team members
  • Support each other without ego
  • Communicate openly and professionally
  • Recognize that emergency medicine is demanding — and take care of our team because of it
What Life Is Like at EVCC

We genuinely care about whoever walks through our doors — whether it’s a critical patient, an anxious pet parent, or a teammate who needs support during a tough shift.

Emergency medicine is intense. It’s emotional. It’s unpredictable.

But it’s also deeply meaningful.

You won’t be “just a coordinator” here. Your skills, instincts, and leadership matter. You will shape training programs, support career growth, and help build a culture where every team member can succeed. Growth is encouraged, not gatekept.

Your Role as a Training Coordinator

As a Training Coordinator, you have one of the most meaningful jobs at EVCC: helping others grow. You’ll lead with curiosity, coach with compassion, and obsess over development. You’re not just building skills—you’re building confidence, momentum, and careers in emergency medicine. Whether you’re working 1:1 on the floor, guiding peer-led sessions, or developing educational tools, your impact will be felt hospital-wide. You’ll tailor training to every learning style and celebrate every milestone! Your work helps make EVCC a place where people learn, lead and love what they do.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Partner with leadership to identify individual and team training needs
  • Assess assistants and credentialed technicians through direct observation and real-time immersion
  • Implement EVCC training programs and serve as the go-to training lead at your hospital
  • Split your time between on-the-floor mentoring and strategic development
  • Provide tailored, hands‑on training for all learning styles and skill levels with patience and understanding
  • Organize peer training opportunities and build a strong mentoring culture
  • Collaborate with the location nursing manager(s) and professional networks to broaden location‑specific training needs
  • Develop and refine training content (i.e. presentations, videos, simulations, and assessments)
  • Ensure all training aligns with EVCC's culture, mission, and emergency standards of care
  • Continually evaluate and improve leveling programs for assistants and technicians
  • Encourage team members to use portions of their CE allowance to grow their skills
  • Model professionalism, positivity, and strong work ethic in every interaction
