Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing is required.
• RN license to practice in Alabama or compact state licensure is required.
• BCLS certification required.
• ACLS certification required.
• Comparable combination of education and experience may substitute for the above requirements.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to assess patients and plan individualized care for neonatal to geriatric patients.
• Supervises, plans, evaluates, and coordinates patient care provided by licensed and non-licensed staff as Charge Nurse when assigned.
• Performs therapeutic and/or diagnostic procedures as ordered and administers medications including controlled substances.
• Starts IVs and administers blood products; provides patient and family education and documents care.
• Responds to emergency situations, performs basic life support, and ensures safety and infection control standards.
