Job summary

The Workforce Group, a LEMOINE company, seeks experienced Shelter Managers to oversee 24/7 emergency shelter operations at disaster response sites across the state. Seasonal deployments require rapid readiness, with frequent travel on short notice.

Ideal candidates will lead staff, ensure residents receive meals, hygiene items, and support services, and coordinate coverage. Deployment readiness within 24–72 hours is preferred.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated leadership and operational management experience.
• Strong organizational, time-management, and multitasking abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and community partners.
• Must be able to remain calm and make decisions under pressure.
• Flexible availability to support 24/7/365 shelter operations.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation is required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily 24/7 operations of emergency shelter sites, ensuring safe and effective service delivery.
• Supervise shelter staff and coordinate shift schedules to maintain consistent coverage and care.
• Ensure residents have timely access to meals, laundry services, hygiene items, and medical or case management support.
• Conduct regular staff meetings to communicate updates, assignments, and policy changes.
• Maintain smooth shift transitions and continuity of shelter operations across all staffing teams.
• Provide direct coverage as needed to fill staffing gaps or address urgent needs.
• Remain on call 24/7 to respond to emergencies or operational issues.
• Manage and support one or more direct reports, including onboarding, training, and task assignment.
• Exercise discretion and sound judgment in managing day-to-day operations and resident concerns.
• Track project performance, deliverables, and quality assurance using internal systems and tools.
• Ensure compliance with client requirements and internal protocols.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
