Job summary

UCHealth University of Colorado Health seeks an EMT for the Emergency Room in Pueblo, CO. The role is full-time with a night shift and onsite requirements. You will provide emergent patient care under supervision and support the ER team.

Requirements include EMT licensure with IV certification (or EMT-I), HS diploma or GED, and BLS/CPR cert. You will perform IV access, specimen collection, wound care, and assist with procedures in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• Current EMT license with IV certification or EMT-I.
• BLS certification by AHA/ARC for Professional Rescuer; CPR card valid through 60 days after hire.
• Ability to work nights in a fast-paced on-site ER.

Responsibilities

• Establish IV access, collect specimens, provide wound care, and transport patients.
• Assist physicians and nurses with procedures, examinations, resuscitation and minor surgical interventions.
• Report abnormal findings or changes to medical staff.
• Support patient flow, keep rooms clean, stocked and orderly.
• Demonstrate critical thinking and decisive action with minimal supervision.

Department:Emergency Room

Work Schedule:Full Time, 72.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)

Shift:Nights

Pay:$18.40 - $27.60 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience

This position is an onsite role and does not offer a hybrid or remote option

Summary:
Provides emergent/urgent patient care under the direction of a physician, physician's assistant, and/or registered nurse.

Responsibilities

• Performs technical procedures as delegated, including establishing IV access, collecting specimens, providing wound care, and transporting patients. May perform ECGs and vital statistics/telemetry monitoring.


• Assists physicians and nurses with performing medical procedures, including examinations, minor surgical interventions, orthopedic treatment, and resuscitation.


• Reports abnormal assessment findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to medical/nursing staff.


• Assists with patient flow and keeping patient rooms clean, stocked, and orderly.


• Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Requirements

• HS Diploma or GED.


• Current State Licensure as an EMT with IV certification, or EMT-I.


• BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.
