Job summary

Wolfspeed is seeking an Emergency Services Specialist to support emergency response and safety at a designated location. You will coordinate with production, EHS, Facilities and external agencies, serving as incident commander, hazmat tech and/or EMT during incidents.

The role includes PPE maintenance, life-safety checks and rapid response to fire, medical and hazmat events, across a Front-End Day Shift schedule.

Qualifications

• Experience responding to medical, hazardous material, and/or fire emergencies.
• Certification as hazardous materials technician, EMT or firefighter (any two) is preferred.
• Ability to work independently and with peers to achieve goals.

• Safely respond to fire, medical, and hazardous materials emergencies at an assigned Wolfspeed location.
• Perform life safety and fire protection systems checks to ensure operational readiness.
• Maintain PPE and equipment cleanliness, maintenance, inspection and repair for readiness.

Here’s the Gist:

As an Emergency Services Specialist, you will play a key role in the operation and success of the emergency response program, protecting Wolfspeed’s people, property, and processes at an assigned location. This position works with colleagues from production, Environmental Health and Safety, Facilities, and external emergency response agencies to prepare for, respond to and recover from emergency incidents. You will function as an incident commander, hazardous materials technician and/or emergency medical technician during emergencies. This position will work a Front-End Day Shift (Every Sun-Tue and e/o Wednesday).

The Day-to-Day

• Safely respond to fire, medical, and hazardous materials emergencies at an assigned Wolfspeed location
• Perform life safety and fire protection systems checks to ensure operational readiness
• Maintain an awareness and communicate information and activities that may result in an emergency response.
• Perform PPE and equipment cleaning, maintenance, inspection and repair to ensure operational readiness
• Collect and report information related to non-emergency and emergency activities

This Job is Right for You if You Have (Minimum Requirements):

• Experience responding to medical, hazardous material, and/or fire emergencies
• At least two of the following: certification as a hazardous materials technician, emergency medical technician, or firefighter
• Ability to accomplish work goals independently and with colleagues in peer work groups

The posted salary range is what Wolfspeed reasonably expects to pay for this position. Actual pay for a hired applicant will be determined based on the individual’s job-relevant qualifications, experience, and other determinative factors. In the event it is determined that a different job level upon hire is warranted then that range will be communicated to the hired applicant as soon as reasonably practicable.

Compensation Range: $25.60 - $35.20
