Job description

Turn urgent moments into exceptional outcomes as the Emergency Services Director for a respected community hospital on the Texas Gulf Coast, where bold nursing leadership and compassionate care make a lasting difference every day!

The Emergency Services Director will join a mission-driven, patient-first healthcare organization known for personalized service, clinical quality, safety, and meaningful community impact. This hospital offers the close collaboration and executive access of a community-based setting, along with opportunities to advance evidence-based practice, strengthen patient experience, improve measurable outcomes, and shape frontline care. The Director of Emergency Services will benefit from supportive leadership, interdisciplinary teamwork, professional development opportunities, modern quality analytics, and a culture in which nurses are encouraged to contribute ideas, lead improvements, and build rewarding careers.

Leading a 24-hour emergency room that serves as a vital access point for patients across the surrounding region, the Emergency Nursing Director will guide daily clinical operations and long-term strategy for emergency care. This opportunity features Emergency Department leadership, direct executive visibility, evidence-based care transformation, staffing and team development, budget ownership, quality improvement, EMS partnership, trauma-registry oversight, strong community impact, and a patient- and family-centered culture. The ED Nursing Director will focus on safe patient flow, efficient throughput, regulatory readiness, clinical standards, workforce engagement, emergency preparedness, and strong coordination with physicians, EMS professionals, inpatient departments, and community partners.

The Nurse Director of Emergency Services will report to senior hospital executive leadership and receive support from nursing leaders, medical staff, human resources, finance, quality, and other operational partners. Responsibilities include mentoring friendly emergency nurses, developing leaders, managing staffing and productivity, overseeing the department budget, monitoring performance indicators, supporting trauma and quality registries, advancing policies and evidence-based protocols, and maintaining compliance with applicable standards. The Emergency Care Services Director will collaborate with a diverse team of physicians, advanced practice providers, technicians, paramedics, pharmacists, case managers, and healthcare professionals who share a commitment to respectful teamwork and excellent patient care.

Located in Brazoria County within the Greater Houston area, the Emergency Services Director can enjoy the relaxed character of the Texas Gulf Coast while remaining connected to one of the nation’s most dynamic metropolitan regions. The area offers Gulf fishing, boating, birding, beaches, parks, trails, community festivals, live music, professional sports, museums, shopping, and celebrated Texas, Cajun, barbecue, and international cuisine. The Director of Emergency Services will also appreciate access to major airports, respected schools and higher education, expanding healthcare resources, no state individual income tax, a diverse regional economy, and convenient day trips to Houston and coastal attractions. Candidates relocating to the Gulf Coast should also consider the area’s warm climate and prepare for seasonal tropical weather.

The Emergency Nursing Director position includes competitive compensation and a comprehensive suite of health and retirement benefits designed to support long-term professional and personal wellbeing.
